It's finally summer here! Like, real summer. Not any of this rainy, cold summer stuff. It's super hot and sunny so I have to bank it as much as I can to prepare for the next winter here. I've been busy working at a Vietnamese restaurant (so I can finally cross off #1 on the list!) but I'm also trying to get in as much summer as I can during the days. Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Islands Brygge, munching on tapas and taking a dip in the salty harbour while attempting as much as possible to find shade to preserve my pasty complexion. Mark's also been working hard in our apartment and is getting around to doing all the projects we've been wanting to do since we've moved in, like having shelves and things on the wall finally! He drilled almost a hundred holes the other day, what a guy. I picked up an Iceland Lonely Planet to start planning our honeymoon and am getting all excited about horses and hot pots. I love planning trips almost as much as I like going on them. I'm also really looking forward to celebrating Canada Day tomorrow with Mark and his/our family, probably because it will be the first barbeque of the summer (I ended up working on Midsummer but managed to go down to the beach for a late night ice cream and bonfire sesh). I'm thinking of making portobello burgers and strawberry shortcakes tomorrow, just to be patriotic. So it looks like I'm actually doing pretty good on my summer goals so far! Bring it on, summer.
P.S. I'm not totally sure these girls would love me to post pictures of their bums all over the interwebs but aren't they cute with their bike baskets and Tuborg blanket? So Danish.
